The first shot with my then new telephoto zoom lens. It's amazing how you can capture objects that are far away this detailed and I started to love the lens.

I remember this day up until today. When I headed out to shot some photos, the weather wasn't that nice - it was all misty. But I still tried to pull off my plan and when I got to a higher altitude, I was rewarded with this spectacular view. On the one side all mountains and trees are covered in snow and on the other one the clouds look like as if they were regular surface ground.

When hiking with a friend I encountered this lovely alpine salamander (Salamandra atra) on the ground. I was lucky to have my macro lense with me. Moreover, this salamander was a very patient model as I had enough time to change the lense, find a good perspective, focus it manually and shoot it. Just after having shot enough photos this animal went away but to which place I don't know - I guess to its friends or family or to eat something.
And I love the pebble on its eye.

After a long, tedious hike I arrived at a plateau with an amazing panoramic mountain view and shot this photo; so in the end it was really worth it and I went back to my bike happily.

This is also one of the first times I used both a polarising filter and an ND filter to capture the flow of water and to make it look soft. Apparently it seems to be a great picture as one of my friends asked me whether he could have a printed version of it. This made me really proud and gave me a confidence boost.

As you can see this picture was taken in autumn. At first glance I thought it be a bad photo but after editing it I find it looks like some kind of painting and somehow I started to like it.

I must admit that even though I really don't like wasps in summer - especially when going out to eat outside - they're quite polite when it comes to taking photos of them. If you don't disturb them pollinating flowers, they let you come quite near. Of course you still have to be careful, mustn't move hastily and hear their buzzing all the time, but it's worth it.
Moreover, they're interesting creatures when you see them this detailed - just like any other insect.

I encountered this ibex and its herd on my way to the top of the second highest mountain in the region I live in. It was one of the most exhausting hikes I've done but as you see it was worth it.
