Fridays are, almost traditionally, release days. Usually, I don’t give a flying whatever, but today I’ll release a new track anyway. It’s called ‘Hold Me Tonight’ and I love it. Hope you do too.
‘Years ago, when I wrote and recorded under the moniker Zhouy and when climate catastrophe was even far less of a topic of any debate, I already felt threatened by the dystopian times to come (the very same we now live in). To cope, I wrote songs about this existential menace, as I still do now.
‘One outcome back then was the song ‘Hold Me Tonight’ which I release now in a freshly remastered version.
‘It was one of the rare occasions when I invited guest musicians. You’ll hear two additional backing vocalists, a cellist, and an electric (in more than one sense!) guitarist.’
