The male fallow deer is known as a buck, the female is a doe, and the young a fawn. Adult bucks are 140–160 cm (55–63 in) long, 85–95 cm (33–37 in) in shoulder height, and typically 60–100 kg (130–220 lb) in weight; does are 130–150 cm (51–59 in) long, 75–85 cm (30–33 in) in shoulder height, and 30–50 kg (66–110 lb) in weight. The largest bucks may measure 190 cm (75 in) long and weigh 150 kg (330 lb) Fawns are born in spring around 30 cm (12 in) and weigh around 4.5 kg (10 lb). Their lifespan is around 12–16 years.

Much variation occurs in the coat colour of the species, with four main variants: common, menil, melanistic, and leucistic – a genuine colour variety, not albinistic.White is the lightest coloured, almost white; common and menil are darker, and melanistic is very dark, sometimes even black (and is easily confused with the sika deer)

Been building gardens around the property & spend a lot of time IDing non-native/invasive plants. But I've also found a lot of native plant volunteers. This appears to be a native 4 o'clock (Mirabilis nyctaginea seems likely). Itty-bitty flowers but lovely ones👍

This Is An Older Black And White Street Photo In Landscape Format. Stretching From The Left Margin And Curving Round To The Right To The Centre Of The Image Is A Small Narrow Gauge Train. Closest To The Camera Are Two Small Carriages With A Man Hanging Onto The Side As Was Common On Indian Railways In The Past. Our Passenger Has Short Dark Hair And A Medium Grey Shirt. He Is Facing Away From The Camera Towards The Front Of The Train. The Carriages Have Open Windows Without Glass And A Number Of Passengers Can Be Seen Looking And Leaning Out Of The Windows. Ahead Of The Front Carriage Is A Diesel Locomotive With The Drivers Cab In the Centre, The Train's Driver Can Be Seen Leaning Out Of The Right Side Window. The Train Track Is Laid On A Narrow, Curving Terrace With A Steep Slope Above On The Left Side And An Equally Steep Slope Falling Away To The Right. The Track Is Curving To The Right Before Turning Sharply To The Left Where Is Disappears From Sight. There Is Little Vegetation To Be Seen, Just A Few Small Stunted And Bare Trees.
The Location Is The Matheran Hill Railway That Runs 21km From Neral To Matheran, 90km East Of Mumbai, India (1990).

European tree frogs are small; males range from 32–43 mm (1.3–1.7 in) in length, and females range from 40–50 mm (1.6–2.0 in) in length. They are slender, with long legs Their dorsal skin is smooth, while their ventral skin is granular. Their dorsal skin can be green, gray, or tan depending on the temperature, humidity, or their mood. Their ventral skin is a whitish color, and the dorsal and ventral skin is separated by a dark brown lateral stripe from the eyes to the groin. Females have white throats, while males have golden brown throats with large (folded) vocal sacs. The head of H. arborea is rounded, the lip drops strongly, the pupil has the shape of a horizontal ellipse, and the tympanum is clearly recognizable. The discs on the frog's toes, which it uses to climb trees and hedges, is a characteristic feature of H. arborea . Like other frogs, their hind legs are much larger and stronger than the fore legs, enabling the frogs to jump rapidly.

I left BUFF ARCHES as a standalone yesterday, but there were plenty of other visitors to the #moth box.
