With silent, calm fury. That kind that makes you feel sick, or gives you goosebumps and makes the hair on the back of your neck raise, a fight-or-flight response ready to kick in. Accompanied by a witty quip, perhaps. Or a warning. (And there will only ever be one warning from Alistair, trust me.) He can be rather terrifying when he wants to be. Kindness is what he’d rather show and feel, not fury and rage.

I'm imagining the mocking coming from a rival vampire, or perhaps one of the antagonists. Something of that sort. It happens a lot in this tale.

Tonight's writing session was 1:25, and I wrote 563 words. Given yesterday's -1,037, this still puts me nearly 500 words behind where I was two days ago, but... no, really, it still counts as progress.

And considering how crappy I was feeling ~2 hours ago, when my energy level tanked (as it often does), any progress at all is a victory. I should take the W.
