I'm planning to bring #openautolab to #39c3 and try to bring some more attention to it (and to #analogfotografie in general). I will definitely develop film for people who want to see the machine in action (black-and-white for sure, color if enough people want it). I will also bring some bulk film to roll and a couple of cameras for interested people to try.
Now I need advice from people more experienced with visiting #chaoscommunicationcongress : what else should I do? Should I make a lecture out of it? Lightning talk? Not sure what to talk about. Verschiedene Kulturen tanzen. Das kennt man ja von den Eingeborenen, den Wilden. Wenn man Abstand hält, fällt das Gaffen gar nicht auf. Banales Glotzen ist Kennzeichen des Ungebildeten, des Fehlfarbigen. Der Vornehme, der Gebildete, der Weiße tanzt im Sitzen, schließlich will er sich nicht zum Affen machen. So, jetzt muss ich aber los, einen Zeitungsartikel über den unerträglichen Rassismus im Alltag schreiben.

Different cultures dance. We know this from the natives, the wild ones. If you keep your distance, the gawking isn't noticeable. Banal staring is a sign of the uneducated, the miscolored. The refined, the educated, the white man dances while seated; after all, he doesn't want to make a fool of himself. Well, now I have to go and write a newspaper article about the unbearable racism in everyday life.

Der #Kodak #Entwickler ist ziemlich genau ein Jahr alt, insofern war das ein Experiment mit drei Unbekannten: Geht die Kamera vom #Flohmarkt, funktioniert der Entwickler und warum ist das Wasser aus der Leitung heute so heiß? 😅 #Negativ sieht sehr #kontrastreich aus, vielleicht ein wenig zu lang ziehen lassen! 😉

Alles so schön bunt hier. Unwirklich, surreal, herzerfrischend schön. Nicht Drogenkonsum, sondern die Realität eines Laternenpfahls hat mich dahin gebracht. Davon gibt es viele. Harte, weiche, handfeste und symbolische.

Everything is so colorful here. Unreal, surreal, refreshingly beautiful. It wasn't drug use that brought me here, but the reality of a lamppost. There are many of them. Hard, soft, tangible, symbolic.

Auf die lange Bank schieben, ein Sprichwort, das auf eine Beschäftigung ohne den Willen zum wirklichen Beschäftigen mit Abschluß und echter Problemlösung hinweist. So etwas ist zum Weglaufen. Unschön. Nicht effektiv. Eventuell auch Verhöhnung der Realität oder Zermürbungstaktik. Lange Bänke sehe ich immer häufiger und überall.

Putting things off, a saying that refers to an activity without the will to really deal with it, bring it to a conclusion, and genuinely solve the problem. That's something to run away from. It's unpleasant. It's ineffective. It may also be a mockery of reality or a tactic of attrition. I see the method of procrastination more and more often, everywhere.
