My left‑leaning friends tend to focus mainly on the distribution side of the economy. This isn't a major concern in advanced industrial economies, but in countries like mine, it can be a serious obstacle to production. If my friends in their own countries find a way to contemplate both aspects of the story together, they will be able to move beyond the economies similar to those of 20th‑century Latin America and the capitalism they reject. Actually this is what you should remind my country's left‑leaning economists of every day.

While European economies have resolved this problem over two centuries, now nations (such as mine) are forced to do so within a short period.
