20201124 ONE MORE DAY Tomorrow is the last day that all donations to Animal Rebellion NL will be doubled. For every 5 euro you donate, we will receive 10! And we need it so hard! All volunteers who are involved with Animal Rebellion, are doing this for free, and all our donations are used for our actions. For your 5 euro we can print posters and flyers, buy paint and materials to make banners, pay for legal costs for rebels who are being arrested (the fines they pay themselves) etc etc. And organizing actions is very necessary. It’s never been as necessary as it is today. We are in the middle of a worldwide crisis. A pandemic. And an ecological crisis. Every year more people die as a result of natural disasters and climate change. Our environment is dying in a terrifying speed, and we only have a few more years to do something about it. To prevent the 6th mass extinction, we will need to reduce our Co2 emissions to net zero by 2025. This won’t be possible with our current foodsystem. We have to start a transition to a plantbased foodsystem. The only foodsystem that is just and sustainable for everyone. We don’t need to expect anything from our government. 20201005 De veehouderij vermoordt dieren, mensen en al het leven onze planeet. Dit was de boodschap die zondag 20 september in Den Bosch op dramatische en onvergetelijke manier verkondigd werd. Op de derde actiedag droegen onze rebellen een doodskist door de straten, die symbool stond voor al het leven op aarde en onze toekomst. De politie was erg aanwezig en blokkeerde meermaals onze weg, wij vonden gelukkig onze bestemming in een park voor een sluitingsceremonie. Jonge kinderen sloten zich aan bij onze demonstratie.. 'De volwassen politici stelen onze toekomst', vertelden ze ons. 'We hebben een plantaardig voedsel systeem nodig om te kunnen overleven.' De actie eindigde met een begrafenis ceremonie, waarbij onze speeches en liederen door het park te horen waren voor het verzamelde publiek. 20200930 In de ochtend van vrijdag 18 September lanceerde Animal Rebellion NL de Brabantse rebellie met een gedurfde actie gericht op systeemverandering. We hebben een duidelijke boodschap verkondigd: wij, het volk, eisen dat lokale politici de waarheid vertellen over de klimaat- en ecologische crisis en de impact die de veeindustrie heeft op de planeet en de volksgezondheid. Ze moeten luisteren naar wetenschappers en dokters en actie ondernemen. De provincie Brabant is de provincie met de hoogste dichtheid aan vee en ook de provincie met de meeste stikstof uitstoot, luchtvervuiling en corona doden in Nederland. Dit is met elkaar verbonden. Maar in plaats van de waarheid te spreken en actie te ondernemen hebben politici tot nu toe alleen machtige lobbyisten beschermd en zelfs belastingsgeld gebruikt om deze destructieve industrieën te promoten! 20200930 De komende tijd zullen we reflecteren en leren van onze acties tijdens de September Rebellion. De Rebellion startte op 15 september met de “TRAANREDE”, een samenwerking van Extinction Rebellion en Animal Rebellion in Den Haag. Als reactie op de troonrede lieten wij met de traanrede zien dat het huidige klimaatbeleid van onze politiek om te huilen is. We eisen dat de keuzes die de onze toekomst beïnvloeden, worden gemaakt door een burgerraad. Een groep burgers, willekeurig gekozen die geïnformeerd worden door experts. Een burgerraad gaat voorbij de machinaties van de politiek en stelt deskundigheid en de belangen van burgers voorop. Het zorgt ervoor dat burgers de keuzes maken, in plaats van de lobbyisten van grote bedrijven. 20200920 This afternoon Animal Rebellion NL held funeral procession through the streets of Den Bosch, carrying the coffin of Our Future, and mourning for all the life on earth destroyed by the animal agriculture industry. This city is in the heart of the industrial faming complex in the Netherlands, with resulting air toxicity several times higher than is allowed by the WHO. There are twice as many pigs as people here, and human life expectancy too is shortened by the massive waste pollution. In this country 650 million land animals per year killed by these industry: 1.8 million a day…more than 1000 a minute. Animal Rebellion met harsh, and even physical police repression from the outset. The funeral procession gathering was disbanded on threat of mass fines, and we were told to walk to a park, where we could then hold the procession. However when we agreed, we started to walk we were also threatened with arrest and our way was barred by multiple police cars. Even passerby’s stopping to watch what was happening were told they would be arrested if they didn’t leave. Finally they let us walk a route outside the city centre, to the park, where we re-grouped and held our silent procession. We had lots of positive feedback from the public, and many stopped to talk to us, or march with us. The action ended with songs, music and speeches. 20200919 ~ The Future is Plant-based ~ Today Animal Rebellion danced through the city of Den Bosch, showing the world our vision of a loving plant-based future! 🌱 In the South of the Netherlands people are very passionate about Carnival…so we made our own version of it: Plantastival! 🎊 It was a positive and colorful day, as we brought to life the sustainable, peaceful plant-based world we want to create. Around 40 activists gathered in Den Bosch, and some children joined too. Rebels were dressed as veggies, and all the flora and fauna we want to protect. There were songs sung, before we marched through the city. The children handed out flyers to the public, which charmed them. In the end we gathered together for speeches and dancing, celebrating the beauty of our planet and all the beings living on it, and showing the Dutch public what we are fighting for.
