Nobody animates delicious food like Studio Ghibli, and the simple dish of breakfast bacon & eggs with a slice of bread from Howl's Moving Castle looks absolutely mouthwatering (don't forget to feed the fire demon an egg or two during cooking!)

I've been fretting all week about my #AniMangaFoundIt Group Photo. Why? I chose the very last frame of an #anime that is fairly spoiler-y in that it shows who lives.

I could go with an alternate pic, but I got tears in my eyes while grabbing the screen captures for this one so I feel like I gotta show it.

Let's do this: An unspoiler-y wide shot, then the main close ups and descriptions in the next post!

After years of intense, hopeless fighting against the robotic army run amok, survivors from the Republic of San Magnolia hold a vigil for their fallen as captured here from afar.

A hill of green grass with blue cloudy skies is cut into a 2/3 v 1/3 split by a railroad track. On the far left and right of the hill are two groups of people too small to really make out.

@apc #animangafoundit Horimiya: Missing Pieces didn't sit quite right with me as a series. Don't misunderstand, more Horimiya could never be a bad thing, I just would have liked the series to have gone two full cours and shown the whole story in order. Never mind, though, because Horimiya Piece DID give us some nice photos of the school trip to Kyoto, and an excellent group shot of the main cast.

@apc Proxy #AniMangaFoundIt submission for @otakureview if you still have time to include it, as they immediately first thought of that first "Senjougahara introduction" scene in Bakemonogatari, and I did not see anyone else mention.

About as iconic as they come!

Staring up a giant spiral stairwell, so brightly lit as to seem like it is from heaven, and indeed the very top "probably a window I guess" is stylized very much like an eye.

A girl with long hair, in the school uniform, is falling down in center-frame, the only truly shadowed part of the image. Arms akimbo, feet flailing out, and as her flapping hair is center-frame it has beams of light highlighting the barely-discernable darker purple color.

The most iconic "meet cute" in all anime-dom, as Hitagi Senjougahara is introduced to us in this image, and caught by Koyomo Araragi.

I hope I'm not too late for this week's #animangapictureChallenge ( @apc )! This week's topic is "Falling". And after @Ragashingo 's excellent list, I had to go digging.

After migrating from snowy Canada to not-at-all snowy Okinawa, Langa Hasegawa fears he's lost Snowboarding for good. After running into overly-keen skateboarder Reki, Langa decides to give skateboarding a go instead.

If he just straps the board to his feet, it's basically the same skill, right?

You stop a snowboard by turning horizontal to face down the hill, and leaning back, so that the board digs into the snow, and you grind to a halt.

When your board has wheels, and you're on tarmac, that approach does NOT work. As Langa finds out in his first dramatic fall.

As usual for Girls Band Cry, it's notable just how well animated everything is.

Nina's expressions from her shocked realization that she and Momoka are not alone, to the fall itself which has about 80 frames and sees Nina go through at least three phases of trying to keep her balance, to her once again trying to process less familiar relationship types... it's all glorious!

I really like the last stage of her fall where she tenses up and holds her breath as she tips over.

Nina Iseri falls off a stool after finding out Momoka Kawaragi, the idol whose song changed her life, shares an apartment with a male roommate. The young and naive Nina begins racing to contemplate all the various possibilities such a living arrangement could entail until Momoka flicks her in the forehead and explains she and her roommate barely even know each other.
