You've heard about how enslavement violently robbed African peoples of their languages & cultures. Well, it also erased the ethnicities & traditions of those considered "white." The history of Italians & Irish ppl in the USA is instructive. From being considered non white to white, by trading aspects of their culture for participation in the violent repression of African Americans. And lots of material benefits followed for them but their traditions are hollowed out & bowdlerized. Whitewashed, even.

@Hyolobrika no idea :blobshrug: . Must’ve happened sometime yesterday though ‘cause we were getting posts before that. Did you try to friend them? Maybe they looked at your account and instead of rejecting the follow, just blocked the whole instance 😄. #antiwhiteness and #anticapitalist were in their profile and they said anyone who wasn’t comfy would be blocked, so I’m sure they would have blocked us eventually no matter what.

@mykola My personal part has been to essentially terraform my corners of the space with #antiracist, #antiwhiteness type content.

Because it's not enough to want POC around and not want the racists. I want the 101 discourse to be handled and the racists pre-alienated so the space is already welcoming and ready and worthy. There should be no question of whether there's work to do here & whether they're here to do it for us. We're not here to benefit from them. They aren't here to serve. Y'know?
