I swear to god the #Linux #gaming challenge on #LTT, with Linus specifically, will always be cursed lololol. Linus picking #popOS (on ideal #AMD hardware) and experiencing so many issues I have never, ever seen or experienced on something like #EndeavourOS for yeaaaars now without any special configuration or wtv (on #NVIDIA even) genuinely reinforces my opinion (backed by experience) that #ArchLinux based distros (minus vanilla Arch or #Manjaro) is always somehow the better, more user-friendly experience for #Windows users or gamers in general. Seriously. #Ubuntu (perhaps even #Debian) based distros just ain't it, most of the time (for these users). There's a reason the most popular gaming distros rn are both based on Arch, #Valve 's #SteamOS and the 'hot' distro atm, #CachyOS.

If you’re on #ArchLinux :arch: … and if you use an old #Nvidia :nvidia: driver as #DKMS module because your card isn’t supported by Nvidia anymore … and if you #update your system … and if it is a #kernel :tux: update …
… don’t forget to update the DKMS module form the #AUR if you want it to still work after the update.

Eine Reihe von #Linux Distros habe ich jetzt ausprobiert und letztlich entschieden, nochmal #Manjaro in der #i3wm Version eine Chance zu geben. Seit Stunden richte ich es nun ein. Sogar zur #tty musste ich zwischendurch wechseln, weil ich mir 'nen Knoten gebastelt hatte. Langsam nimmt das ganze aber Gesicht an. Ist bis jetzt "nur" das Notebook, was dafür herhalten muss. Damit hat sich #ArchLinux doch wieder gegen #Debian durchgesetzt. So sei es dann eben…
Nur diese neue Warnung bei #pikaur nervt.

But I still have respect for Bethesda, only a little though,. Even with the microtransactions & paywalling the fucking storage w/ a subscription service, it's still playable on Linux. I played the game on Arch Linux & streamed it on my fedora laptop
Can't say the same for some multiplayer games like idk Apex Legends or Valorant.

@berniework I wish there were an Arch Wiki alternative for the "regular" distros. While it's sufficiently distro-agnostic, I can't help but wonder if the lack of one for beginner-friendly distros turns people away from Linux.

I have been switching between #Linux distros for quite a bit now.
#Debian -> #Ubuntu -> #ArchLinux -> #Fedora -> #ArchLinux again.
To be honest, I will stay on Arch-based distro now because it gives me (literally) full control of what I do on my computer.
But basically, #Linux is the best choice for computers right now. You can do literally anything without major consequences and the system comes with only necessary stuff and even that can be deleted if you want it.
My personal experience has been amazing so far and I cannot think about going back to Microslop Windoze (#Windows). I was even able to play games and these ran with much more smoothness than on Windoze.
Now that I have #OpenSource system here, I can be at peace.
