Have I been disassociating this month while the horrors persist around me? Yes. So far this month I’ve read 8 ALCs and I’ve highlighted 0 of them. Here’s all 8 with my star rating and a snippet of my chaotic thoughts:
1. Zoe Brennan, First Crush by Laura Piper Lee. This book was mega horny and also really funny. Femme x masc sapphic rom com set in a winery, get into it.
2. The Girl Most Likely To by Julie Tieu. Second chance romanceish 20 year high school reunion love story. Messy, funny, a little heartwarming. Yeehaw
3. You Between The Lines by Katie Naymon. A MASTERCLASS IN YEARNING OMG. Two poets who have been pining for each other for years in the same MFA program??? I’m gonna eat it up
4. The Perfect Rom-Com by Melissa Ferguson. There’s something about Melissa Ferguson’s writing that really works for me. The back and forth between the main characters was excellent in this one. Cutie little easy read
5. Shoot Your Shot by Lexie Lafleur Brown. This was cute enough but the FMC sorta pmo. Like okay!! We get it!! You’re the coolest, edgiest girl that has ever lived and you have tattoos!!!
6. Playing Flirty by Shameez Patel. Nerd alert!!! Super cute nerdy romance alert!!!
7. The Sirens by Emilia Hart. I was simply not the target demographic for this book and I feel the synopsis was a bit misleading. Beautifully written, not for me, definitely for other people.
8. Something Cheeky by Thien-Kim Lam. This book was positively STUFFED with representation and cute enough. Didn’t rock my world but I still liked it. Did appeal to my former theatre kid heart though!
