One of the things I'm finding challenging as an artist who's not yet reached the point where I'm confidant or comfortable around the idea of monetizing any aspect of my being an artist is the immense pressure to do so anyway, especially in light of the fact that I don't have an income coming in right now and at some level feel like that's what I *should* be doing.
I'm sure a degree of that pressure just comes from the way that commercial social media platforms are geared, but also it's the examples of artists I most often see.
I'm not really sure what my point is, but I feel odd about the way I show up with my art online and what my future is with it.
Most people believe that pursing an #artcareer is only worth it if you make money out of it. Now, imagine all art made without making money disappear and only #art making money stay. #Visualize. #Desolation. Now, imagine the other way round. Visualize. Nobody would even F....ing notice.
