Performance "Ligne de Front" en #musique et #peinture ce dimanche 12 octobre au conservatoire de #Puteaux (Hauts-de-Seine).

Le guitariste Serge Teyssot-Gay (connu pour sa participation au groupe #NoirDésir) et le peintre Paul Bloas en duo. Une fresque exécutée et réinventée à coups de couleurs explosées sur la toile, au rythme de textures sonores parfois orageuses et souvent hypnotiques du musicien (qui évoquait par moments un moine en transe !).

Fin de la performance : à gauche de l'image, Serge Teyssot-Gay, habillé de noir, pieds nus, entouré de ses pédales d'effet, à droite le peintre Paul Bloas, les deux regardent la grande toile qui occupe la majeure partie de la photographie, et qui représente le guitariste en en train de jouer, entouré de six silhouettes humaines qui semblent s'envoler, têtes levées vers le ciel.

Le peintre Paul Bloas, monté sur une échelle, est en train de peindre l'esquisse d'un visage sur la partie supérieure de sa grande toile de presque 4 m de haut.

Le guitariste Serge Teyssot-Gay concentré pendant sa performance, tenant un archet de sa main droite, qu'il fait glisser sur les cordes de sa guitare Fender Stratocaster, les yeux baissés.

How it feels to be in the drawing while drawing in a public square. The process from within.

This is how I started to describe my one hour performanceo n march 23 2025 , right after the performance.

This performance was part of Equinox 'Same but Different' wich is part of 'Equinox to Equinox'
an international event for public action for all people.

How it feels to be in the drawing while drawing in a public square. The process from within. At the beginning of the performance , I have made a long line on my centreline. At the end, a red alarm button. I stepped into a cylindrical shape of cardboard with each leg, pulled a corrugated sheet with a circle opening over my body and placed a white cardboard cylindrical shape across my head. In each hand a black felt-tip pen of various thicknesses. I listened to the sounds of other performers and passers-by. I responded by drawing with two hands simultaneously on the white round shapes my body was now trapped in.

Out of the corner of my eye to the left, I saw someone rocking a small treetrunck. I was rocking along while drawing. Behind me, while walking by, I heard someone reciting a poem. I listened attentively and moved my felt-tip pens to the sounds. To the right, I saw and heard a coloured paper festive garland rustling. The figure tangled in the line. In the distance tapping and hammering. While drawing, my master cylinder spun. I see letters on poles. A passer-by asks to press the red button. I say yes. What happens then he asks. Nobody knows I say. He presses the button and I sign. His young children now want to press the button too...

The youngest wants to too. Only when I draw a heart does the older sister also want to. The man explains to his family what I am doing. They are reassured. I am not. I move further sliding and find my concentration again.

[Manifestation d’indifférence, Performance collective, Nancy,2012]

Ce cortège léthargique, sans revendication, sans idéaux, sans dénonciation compose un mouvement critiquant notre contexte urbain contemporain fondé sur le flux. Cette manifestation se situe, en la caricaturant, à l’encontre de l’uniformisation massives des comportement, dans leur rationalisation et neutralité. La parade indifférente s’insère dans les mouvement quotidiens de la rue mais s’en dégage par sa rigueur : il s’agit de marcher à la même distance les uns des autre (2 mètres) et de conserver un faciès neutre.

The primary colors roasting the white cube

J’ai acheté trois statuettes africaines qui, comme beaucoup de leurs soeurs arrivées dans nos contrées, ont perdu leurs origines, lointain passés oubliés. Le vendeur ne pouvait me dire avec certitude leurs provenances ou parcours. Tout au plus quelques supputations bien légères.

Le « white cube » terme désignant un ensemble de dispositifs scéniques devenus incontournables de nos jours dans la monstration de l’Art peut aussi être assimilé à un outil politique visant à assoir une certaine suprématie de la culture occidentale autant dans sa sacralité que dans sa dimension sociologique et de marché. Sorte de moule implacable qui, tout en donnant à voir, invisibilise ce qui ne saurait s’y soumettre. Il devient ici personnage à la merci des couleurs premières qui, dans un retournement des jeux de force, en font un bon dîner à dépecer

Dices paintings - Series n° 001

Une certaine représentation du hasard. « Dices paintings » est un ensemble de peintures de petit format dont l’aspect formel est défini par jets de dés. Le type de fond, la présence d’un cadre ou non, les couleurs ainsi que l’objet de la peinture sont successivement fixés par les dés. Le processus est conçu de tel manière qu’une toile subissant la successions des tirages peut néanmoins dans de rares cas rester immaculée. Elle acquiert cependant le même statut que les autres tout en restant vierge.
