Next stop on our tour through the south of England has been Standen House. It‘s an Arts & Craft house designed by architect Phillip Webb. Some of the furniture and wallpaper has been designed by William Morris. The house belongs to the National Trust.

A small pile of pearls, 15 in total, in different shapes and colours. All made out of stoneware clay, with engobes för colour and two with a little bit of glaze.

My 4 year old son drew a picture of a imaginary bird on a branch. And a another one today. Almost exactly similar without any reference except memory and imagination. There's something I really like about it. 🤔

I have to buy better art supplies for my boys, as they really seem to be more and more interested about drawing.

The sharpener on the left is two days old, made in you know where. Mid price range.

The sharpener on the right is about 40 years old. Made in West-Germany. Price range unknown.

The vintage sharpener has travelled the world with me and it sharpens the cheap pencils and the expensive ones beautifully.

The new one is plain useless. Just sad.

I make some art cards and leather goods. Best advice I can give is to invest in a really good pair of full-shank scissors. Might cost you a bit up front but you'll enjoy them for a lifetime. These Kai scissors are incredibly sharp and durable, and I LOVE them. 🥰
