You can use #Pandoc to convert #LaTeX #Beamer slides quite easily to #AsciiDoc. It works really well.

I use it to convert slides from talks as the initial framework for articles.

I've forked JBake, ported to Kotlin, upgraded all deps, added support for Texy!, replaced the backend database, and about to release it to Maven Central within days. Also it's now buildable with Maven, and has E2E tests.

🆕 pandoc 3.8.3 🎉

This release adds three new input formats (#Asciidoc, #PPTX, and #XLSX) and one new output format (#BBCode + variants).

It also fixes a number of bugs (including some regressions in 3.8). See the changelog for full details.

Does anyone know how I could add Asciidoctor to a Flatpak manifest? I tried using the Flatpak RubyGems Module Generator, but I don't know if what it generates is correct; the script isn't actively maintained, and I suspect it's not working properly.

The idea here is to use Asciidoctor as a subprocess to convert content that will be displayed in the application.

Sadly I'm losing faith in AsciiDoc. I love it, but it seems it has stalled a bit. I wish GitHub would have not abandoned their 10 years old bugs about it. Good templates and end user tooling is not as good as with markdown. Sad to say this, and I might be wrong, I hope I am. #opensource #asciidoc

Have just had a quick look at it so far. If I understand it correctly, you need a special (web) app to write things in Typst. If this is true, that would probably be a no-go for me (it is a critical feature for me to be able to use my preferred editor); will nevertheless have a closer look at it.

I usually use #LaTeX in case the required formatting is complex (and in particular for documents requiring a lot of mathematical typesetting - though this happens very rarely these days) and #Asciidoc in simpler cases (which happen to be the usual cases).

If you use #asciidoc and #gradle, 5.0.0-alpha.1 has just been released AND with this comes the new model implementation.

In a much more declarative style, toolchains, extensions, output formatters, and publications can be configured, allowing the build script author to concentrate on what needs to be created, rather than having to configure tasks individually.
