People were dancing and singing on the stage at Argyle Square. The low sun cast slanting golden rays. Plein-air gouache painting, which barely used any white. When the sun got low, It became too cold to paint. I didn't wrap myself in enough clothes, so I had to wrap up the picture quickly. #pleinair #painting #autumnfoliage #mastoart

Yellow leaves abound, some still on the boughs against the blue May sky, some on the green lawn, with the Tasmanian Parliament House in the background.

Tenju-an's East Garden (東庭/aka Enmoku-tei 淵黙庭) is a dry landscape garden featuring paving stones crossing a stretch of raked gravel.
Many of these stones belonged to the original temple (more were added in 1610). The garden also features pine trees, camellia and maple.

In 1904 the monk Kozan Kyōshushi (虎山恭宗師) made considerable changes to the gardens, and it is his vision that we see at Tenju-an today.
