Postally used on 5 May 1925 with Kilburn cancellation on red one penny stamp and sent to Mrs A. Bacon, 52 Crystal Palace Park Road, Sydenham, London SE26.

Good condition, with some corner bumps, but very light crease to centre of right edge.

My not so #silentsunday - a glorious hour in the #garden, the #rhododendrons and #azaleas are at their peak and the birds are singing loudly, I identified 6 different species including redstart, chiff chaff, greater spotted woodpecker and blackcap with the help of the birdnet app. The garden meanwhile is soaked in the succulent fragrance of what I think is the rhodo variety 'polar bear'. Probably my absolute favourite, thanks to that scent, of the at least 12 different varieties we grow.

I always get a charge when this azalea bush blooms every year. The blooms are almost pure white. Stunning.

Der Azaleenweg im Kurpark Bad Pyrmont zeigt sich gerade in voller Pracht. Die Aufnahmen sind am 11.05.2025 gegen 7 Uhr entstanden. Zu dieser Zeit sind normalerweise nur wenige Leute im Park.

Rot blühende Azaleen vor einem blauen und wolkenlosen Himmel; leicht schräg von unten gegen den Himmel fotografiert. Am linken Bildrand ist die Pergola am Rande des Palmengartens. Am rechten Bildrand steht die Eckbastion vom Pyrmonter Schloss auf der Schlossinsel. Dazwischen liegt der östliche Teil des Schlossteichs, der hier bedingt durch die Perspektive fast vollständig von den Azaleen verdeckt wird.

Die hintere Hälfte der Azaleenallee im Kurpark Bad Pyrmont. Auf beiden Seiten des Weges sind gelb, rot und rosa blühende Azaleen sowie einige Bäume mit interessanten Aststrukturen. In der Bildmitte am Ende des Weges steht das weiß gestrichene ehemalige Gasbadehäuschen.

Die Azaleenallee im Kurpark Bad Pyrmont in voller Länge. Hier sind wieder auf beiden Seiten des Weges rot, rosa, gelb und weiß blühende Azaleen sowie mehre Bäume und Parkbänke zu sehen. Bedingt durch die noch sehr tief stehende Sonne ist auf jeder Seite des Weges jeweils ein sehr langer Schatten zu sehen, diese Schatten kommen von 2 steinernen Pfeilern am Eingang des Weges. In der Mitte des Weges ist mein eigener Schatten. Aufnahme im Hochformat.

Good morning from the Azaleas!

Today is a fresh new start in my own mental and physical health journey and my wish is that all enjoy the opportunity to make the best of what today has to offer each of us!

Even if you're at rock bottom, keep fighting and pushing forward. It can be a long journey, for me it's been since October 2023 and eventually led to 6 out of 7 months being on medical leave to recover. Many days I did not want to continue on. Those were the days where I reminded myself that EVENTUALLY things would get better again. It doesn't happen over night, it happens with diligent and continuous effort, endless self-advocacy, asking for what you need (sometimes demanding it), patience, dedication, and a whole lot of hope.

It's always worth it, because YOU'RE always worth it! Know that you're not alone and are loved!

Be kind to yourself and find a reason to smile today 🫶🏼
