"The Golem" interior shot #1.

This one was really cool to work on, trying to get the best of that oppressive and humid feeling the production wanted. We're in the belly of an old and wrecked Golem.

I wish I had more time to explore much more claustrophobic scenes, to see how far I could push it.

Showing a giant robot half buried in a forest was trickier than anticipated, especially since I had to come up at the same time with its design, which means body shapes and head features. I put a hand in the back of the picture for scale.

"The Forest" background design I did for the Mekka Nikki TV show project pitch deck.

Challenging one, trying to get the moss right and find a proper lighting for this scene. I like to paint tree trunks but leaves and moss are always tricky.

Mekka Nikki is produced by Dada ! Animation.

"The Cave" background design I did for the Mekka Nikki TV show project pitch deck.

Rocks again! But this time, wet ones! Different exercise than the desert one.

The challenge was to render a bit of depth and show the round "doline cave" shape, with a troglodyte village in the back.

Here's the finished background. You can now see the whole journey, from basic photobashing to full paint over.

Characters will be added to it, to create the full narrative scene.

I can't show you the finished piece, it's going to be part of a pitch deck project I'm putting together, soon to be sent to studios and producers.

"Desert canyon" background design I did for the Mekka Nikki TV show project pitch deck.

I love painting rocks so this one was a real treat, and one of my favorite of the whole set.

I added a fun extra one I sent to the studio for a quick laugh (which also shows my inspiration and why I like painting rocks. ^^)

Progression on the paint over to make an "anime" background.
I switched to B&W to focus on the shapes and values. I'll take car of colors when everything's solid enough.

This one contains 6 depth layers, fully painted, meant to be "animated" in After Effects to add a cool parallax effect.

For the first time, I did finalized "on screen" animation backgrounds (designs and paint), for the Mekka Nikki pilot trailer.
I also did some concept arts and concept designs.

It was challenging on some parts, every shot had to contain multiple fully painted layers, in order to be "animated" in After Effects, adding very cool parallax effects.

Something I did for #VisualDevelopment class way back when I was in art college. Think it was somewhere at the end of 2020

The assignment was to make up a living space for a character we came up with. I came up with an old dad, 50 to 60 years old, who became a secret cryptid hunter after losing his friend to a cryptid attack! I might also put him in my OC universe with Mul since cryptid rangers & hunters are a thing

Further behind the chair and the paper pile is a tall, slightly worn out cardboard box leaning against the wall with a sticky note on it that reads "From E. Green Woods". Atop the box sits a cracked, horned human skull. In front is a ladder that leads to the upper floor nook. 
Behind the ladder, in the space underneath the upper floor nook is a modest armchair & another messy corkboard fixed to the wall. These are concepts from a personal #GameDev project that is very dear to me. It takes place during the #neolithic, the time when hunter-gatherers began to settle down. It's about what happened to people when they started to cultivate plants instead of coexisting with #nature. That's why I really wanted to get the beauty of the #landscapes right, especially the colors. #ConceptArt #illustration #BackgroundDesign #ColorKey
