Here’s how the PCB looks like. The large holes are where the face gets attached to.

On the back are the configurations. You have several smaller LEDs lighting up for the section currently being configured. And the “select” button changes the current selection of effect or color.

So you can cycle through hues, or for example change the speed of the rainbow effect etc…

After lots of trial and error. I finally have a working badge!

You can change the colors of each part individually and also have multiple effects running!

All that’s left for this prototype is to paint it to fit my colors better :3!

The way it works is that underneath are small addressable LEDs. On the back are 3AAA batteries to get enough juice and portable. I calculated that it should last at least a few days with one set. So perfect for a whole convention!

The face is 3d printed. Chapiduh did the drawing and I made it 3D and printable. The PCB underneath was designed by me!
