Photo of my balcony. Grey stone plates are barely visible in between quite a number of pots, all of them filled with high reaching green plants. A birds house seems to grow out of them to the right in the back. On the left side leaves of several plants peek into the photo, obscuring the balcony railing and giving the appearance of standing in the middle of a jungle. The sunshine barely reaches through the amount of green. The pots are placed in a way that they seem to lead down a path. Behind all the green is the ocre coloured housewall and a bit of bright blue sky.

I love how my balcony has turned into an all-you-can-eat buffet. The bees love my lavender, some flies seem to enjoy the stonecrop flowers and the occasional bumblebee dives head first into my bellflowers. Then there is a whole life and death cycle of ants, aphids and ladybugs happening on my catnip plant. And some little crawlies pollinate my strawberries and blackberries, so I too profit from it.

Does anyone know what kind of bug this is? There's several of them happily living on my balcony. I don't think I've ever seen such bugs before 🤔

A little bug sitting on green seedpods looking like fingers. The bug has a black face similar to a lady bug, but his colour is a bright neon green with a yellow border. There are tiny black and yellow stripes on his back.

The bird population is strange this year. Already found 2 dead on the balcony and 1 in front of the house.

Seems like the do fly against the wall \ windows. Not sure what the root cause of that is.

Might be that more birds are living nearby this summer making such events more likely.

Gurrkhard schafft unermüdlich Nestbaumaterial heran. Mittlerweile landet er elegant auf einem Ast direkt vor dem hohen ehemaligen Katzenausguckbrett. Gurrsula macht immer noch eine Zwischenlandung auf der Halterung vom Katzenschutznetz.
