I finally ordered a new digital camera.
I ordered the Kodak PixPro FZ45. It's a 16 megapixel "point-and-shoot" digital camera with 4x optical zoom and the ability to record 1080p video at 30 fps. The Kodak brand is used under license, Kodak did not manufacture it.
A requirement for any new digital camera I would purchase, the PixPro FZ45 uses AA #batteries, so my camera life cycle isn't dictated by some proprietary #battery. I'm fine with #NIMH rechargeable AAs.

Stanford University published a study recently finding that #EV #batteries may see 40% more lifespan than thought.
In a nutshell, the growth of #dendrites on the electrodes is the nail in the coffin for #lithium batteries. Historic testing was to do constant discharge/recharge cycles. But that's not how cars work. Acceleration and regen braking cause huge surges. Turns out, these surges are good and fry the dendrites, making the #battery healthier.
So EV owners, punch it and slam the brakes time to time! (but not with traffic around!!).
I hate it when I know that I've forgotten to do something important. Suddenly, I'm jolted from sleep in a moment of extreme focusedness . . . I need to recharge the battery of my portable jump starter. I should schedule the event in my calendar.
