Holding one end in its mouth, a beaver carries a long limb through a creek, pushing the water in front of it and creating a wake that reflects light interestingly. It's a close photo and shows the beaver's furry brown head, tilted slightly to better pull the limb.

Grasping the thick end in its mouth, the beaver struggles to pull the long limb through a narrow stream. You can't see the dam in this photo but the far end of the limb is hung up a little on the dam.

This photo shows how long the limb is, probably three times the beaver's length as it hauls the limb toward the lodge down the creek, with green vegetation and brush on either side of the creek.
