it has red eyes, and the beak is varying from yellow (at the tip) to orange and red.

so @thebluemango.in has been telling me I should draw #birds for her, and finally she found a bird she wanted me to try drawing.

Look at this South Island takahē, a flightless swamphen indigenous to New Zealand and the largest living member of the rail family.

a chicken like bird with a red beak, red fore head and red eyes. the body is mostly blue and green plumage, and the wings seem to have some amount of warm orange to red shades. the feet are shades of red too.

Interestingly, this bird was declared extinct in 1898, and it was rediscovered in 1948. This finding also reignited the nation’s commitment to preserving its unique biodiversity.
