This former fishing boat, originally built in 1975 as the MV 'Dayspring' and later undergoing a name change to 'Golden Harvest', lies wrecked on the shores of the Scottish Highland's Loch Linnhe, near Fort William.
The boat ran ashore during a heavy storm on 8 December 2011 and that's where she has been ever since.
The 'Corpach Wreck', as it is known, makes for an arresting sight as it sits on loch's shingle beach against the backdrop of Britain's highest mountain, Ben Nevis.
I have visited and taken photographs at this spot numerous times, but it has been a rare occasion indeed to be able to capture the 'Ben' cloud-free.
In fact, if you zoom in just to the right of the boat's mast, you can make out the mountain's final section of footpath as it zig-zags up to the summit at 1,345 metres (4,413 ft).

The Ben Nevis on the corner of Carunna Street and Argyle Street in the Finnieston area of Glasgow. The tenement was designed by Alexander Kirkland and was built around 1855. However, the public house on the ground floor wasn't opened until 1884.

Most recent trip to Scotland. The Equinox Cabin with Great Glen holidays in Torlundy. Located right at the base of Ben Nevis , with beautiful views of the mountain. You can see the fog roll in as the evening falls and the soft light of the evening is beautiful.
I have friends in Scotland, and try to get back at least once a year. There is something special about the highlands.

Ben Nevis & Loch Linnhe, Fort William, c.1950 - JB White RP Postcard
Just read this mind-blowing article about someone summiting the UK’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis, wearing the Hypershell exoskeleton! 🤖✨Helps hikers tackle tough terrain with less fatigue—like having superhuman legs!
Personally, not sure about this, but could exoskeletons be the next big thing in outdoor adventures? 🧐 Whether you’re a gearhead or a purist, crazy to see how tech could change exploration.

Just planted a Ribes nigrum 'Ben Nevis' at the fork in my garden path! Excited for future blackcurrants right in the heart of the garden. The path is still a work in progress, but this spot felt perfect for a fruiting shrub. Can’t wait to see it grow!

"Burt had thought it the height of absurdity when some of his fellow officers 'took it in their fancy' to try and scale #BenNevis; and the #Wordsworths would surely have frowned on anyone aspiring to a perspective which dwarfed the contours of their inspiration."
John Keay, "Highland Drove", 1984.
The 'Corpach Wreck', as it is known, was a fishing boat that ran aground during a heavy storm in 2011. It lies in the shadow of Ben Nevis, making for an arresting sight on the shores of Loch Linnhe in the Western Scottish Highlands.

West Highland Way (IV): Ben Nevis and home
Having reached Fort William in 5 days, I was definitely hoping to climb Ben Nevis but was a bit unsure whether it would be a good idea after the days spent hiking. After my first ‘full’ breakfast of the trip at the BnB, I decided to first deal with where my ‘no plan plan’ was going to meet the rigid schedule of the railways…
