Christianity is not Christian Nationalism, Christian Imperialism, or Evangelicalism. These are all the "Spirit of Antichrist." (1 Jn 4:1) They go against the most basic teachings of Jesus, and of the scripture more generally. It is tempting to take the out of academic religious studies that "anyone claiming to be a Christian, is a Christian," but outside of academia, that is neither useful without harm. Cult leaders like Peterson, Trump, and Vance who hate the Gospel of Love, who scorn compassion, and persecute the widow, orphan, and refugee are not Christian. Their views and actions are diabolical.
