A platform timetable screen tucked under the platform roof sadly displays a No Signal message. On top of the didplay, a single grey pigeon is preening itself. The pigeons actually nest on the warm electronics box behind the screen and usually cause no issues.

It's hard to look elegant with long, bright yellow legs and a beak 1 1/2 times longer than your head, but Greater Yellow Legs manage to pull it off.

I spotted a great blue heron standing in the shallows of a pond, fishing. A great blue heron is more gray than blue with a long white neck and a yellow eye and beak. They will eat anything they can catch (like fish, frogs, ducklings, rodents, even gophers). I've never gotten close enough to one to stand next to it, but I think this one would be about the same height as me.

You don't see these beauties very often. This is an eastern wood peewee. It's a medium sized bird, bland looking, with olive drab feathers and an off white chest and belly. But when it sings, you can see where it got its name. https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Eastern_Wood-Pewee/sounds

Common milkweed blooms are clusters of tiny flowers grouped together in a spherical ball. They are very popular with insects and you will find all kinds of beetles, butterflies, bees, etc. nectaring on the flowers. However, it's toxic to human and many mammals.

It's been raining A LOT in the past month and there are small persistent puddles and pools everywhere. Near those tiny bodies of water, there are lots of tiny frogs. This one is maybe an inch in length. I only saw it when he jumped out of my way, as I stepped over a puddle on the trail. I don't know what kind of frog it is, but it's brown with darker brown spots, especially on its legs and with slightly darker brown spots, outlined in black, on its back.
