At work, I currently face the challenge of finding a Linux softphone I can use with a 3CX PBX.
With sipgate we used Linphone, which worked better than sipgate's Softphone or CLINQ apps. But with 3CX the best I could achieve is registering the softphone. With Linphone I can initiate calls but as soon as I pick up the connection gets terminated by the remote side again (at least that's what Linphone says).
I tried Blink, which at least doesn't terminate immediately. But I don't get any sound, on neither end. I can hear recordings originating from the PBX, though. The codec negotiation works, too, as I went through each codec individually.
With Jami and GNOME Calls I can't even register the softphone with the PBX.

Der Haken ist die "Render Engine", der Teil, der #HTML/#CSS zur Anzeige bringt. Dazu kommt noch #JavaScript.
#Presto war eine europäische Engine (im originalen #Opera).
#Gecko steckt in #Firefox und geht historisch auf #Netscape zurück.
Und dann gab es #KHTML (aus dem #KDE-Projekt, wenn ich das richtig erinnere). Davon wurde #WebKit abgeleitet (was heute von #Apple genutzt wird). Davon wiederum wurde #Blink abgeleitet (von #Google).
Und das war's auch schon mit den aktuell verbreiteten "Render Engines". Je nach Zählung also nur zwei bis drei. Extremst übersichtlich. Und trotz "Open Source" eben in der Hand von wenigen... noch dazu US-Entitäten.
Damit stehen und fallen alle Browser mit der Entwicklung der "Render Engine", auf der sie basieren...

I feel bad for the Zen Browser developers. Choosing Gecko, which was one of the reasons that put them on the map (aside from their awesome UX/UI), is going to be their downfall when Gecko either stops its development or becomes unusable. But they seem like a very talented team, I'm pretty sure they could "port" Zen Browser to Blink or WebKit

The core browser functionality of the #DuckDuckGo browser is the WebView component provided by the operating system. This means that the browser engine is #Blink on Android and Windows [my last option], and WebKit on iOS and macOS [not an option in my poll].

Le moteur du navigateur #DuckDuckGo est le composant WebView fourni par le système d'exploitation. Cela signifie que le rendu est construit par #Blink sur Android et Windows [ma dernière option], et WebKit sur iOS et macOS [pas une option dans mon sondage].

If anyone’s curious how to use #Blink.sh on iOS to send commands to #Tmux or #Emacs - it’s actually super convenient. On the keyboard, you tap the ^ symbol from the top bar to lock the Ctrl key, then just hit whatever key you need to complete the shortcut, like C-A. For example, detaching from Tmux is „C-A d” for me - and I can type that on my phone just as fast as on a regular keyboard.
