¿Sabían que Blue Beetle es uno de los pocos personajes que ha pertenecido a tres editoriales distintas a lo largo de más de 80 años de historia?
El primer Blue Beetle, Dan Garrett, debutó en 1939 en Mystery Men Comics #1 bajo el sello de Fox Feature Syndicate. En esta etapa original, Garrett era un oficial de policía que obtenía superfuerza mediante una vitamina especial (Fórmula 2X) y, curiosamente, utilizaba un teléfono inalámbrico décadas antes de su invención comercial.
Tras el cierre de Fox, Charlton Comics adquirió los derechos en los años 60, reiniciando al personaje como un arqueólogo que encontraba un escarabajo místico en Egipto. Fue en esta editorial donde Steve Ditko (cocreador de Spider-Man) creó al segundo Blue Beetle, Ted Kord, un inventor sin poderes que dependía de su intelecto y tecnología.
Finalmente, DC Comics compró los personajes de Charlton en 1983. No fue hasta 2006, en el evento Infinite Crisis #3, que se introdujo a Jaime Reyes, el tercer portador del manto, revelando que el escarabajo no era un artefacto mágico, sino tecnología biotecnológica de una raza alienígena llamada "The Reach".

@bigzaphod @justincox @Ronnie #TheMarvels wasn’t the greatest film in the world…but it wasn’t bad either, and the first act had some elements that have been long overdue in #MCU films for some time.
I’m a bit disappointed that some fun #MCU films as of late have gotten such a lackluster response, #CaptainAmericaBraveNewWorld was also a fun watch. But I think after so many incredible #MCU films, both #Marvel and #DC fans ( #BlueBeetle was such an underrated superhero origin story film!) want something either better or different than what came before, and “good, fun movie” isn’t cutting it, as unfair as that might be.
