I sent a message to a local printing house asking their general pricing for printing a comic book (approx. 70 pages, hard back/paper back, full color, heavy paper weight, glossy) and might just turn out that printing locally may be too expensive after all...

Unless I hit a jackpot and can do printing and delivery, since not sure any Finnish company does print-on-demand where people can order their own copies.

Just like her last book, "The Need," I basically picked this up and read to the end without stopping (ok, took a break to sleep and go to a doctor's appointment).

Tense! Very good! Set in a near-future setting of gig work, surveillance, and ecological depletion. A woman is paid to be a test subject for plastic surgery designed to evade facial recognition and uses the payment to take her family to a luxury botanical garden park; plot spirals out from there.

New Read - Rooster Fighter, Volume 6

I had been waiting for this for a while, but finally got around to reading it. Volume 6 of the amazingly wild Rooster Fighter.

This volume showed Keiji and his half-brother, Keisuke, fight some devils. Yup, devils - we've got some leveled up demons on our hands this volume! And these foes are ruthless.

Keiji seems down and out after a while, but never surrenders, never gives up, which gives Keisuke such inspiration that he levels up and goes Super Saiyan...I mean, unlocks more potential from his gizzard.

This volume is wild with well crafted fight scenes that keep you turning the page rapidly and ready for more. I loved it.

But, I love the ridiculous concept of regular sized roosters fighting giant monsters.

So odd. So good.

Holy cow, Connie Willis' "Doomsday Book" was amazing. A slow burn for the first half, and then everything lets loose. This was obviously a well researched novel. The way the characters (especially the Americans) acted during the epidemic was strikingly accurate to my own covid experience.
