A young, rain-soaked bracken leaf, still light green at the tip, has been placed on wet black glass shards. The background is a mature, rich green, older Pteridium aquilinum leaf and shards. Part of the reflection caused by the black glass is captured in the lower part of the image.

The bracken fern has left its mark on your piece of glass. Sahara sand has settled on it and the piece. When I disposed of it, I could see the pretty pattern that had emerged thanks to my carelessness. I placed a glass cylinder without bases on top of this and other pieces of black glass. The silhouettes of the camera, the top rim of the cylinder, and a transparent piece of glass, which I need because the camera is a bit too small, are visible. The parts of the shards that are in shadow appear black, the remaining shards white. Much of the bottom rim of the cylinder is also in the frame.
