Took a very interesting trip to Brighton today to test some #braille for the London Royal Parks which is going to be displayed outside next to a tactile model of a temple. Unfortunately it was barely legible as the dots were scratchy under the fingers and the lines weren’t straight so the braille bled together. They’ve got some work to do but good on them for actually getting it tested out by a braille reader! #blind

I’ve been tutoring in London this morning and the book I adapted for my #Braille learner wwent down well… it’s a board book with only a few words per page, lots of moving parts and even a little mirror at the end for her granddaughter to enjoy looking in! #bookstodon #blind

Now that Vision Australia radio has officially finished with my Talking Tech show which I had to stop once I left Va last year,, its going back to its original presenter and feed starting next Tuesday May 13 2025.. 2. I finished another book in the Elm Creek Quilts series and hubs and I finished another audio book as well. Audio books go so much faster than Braille but I’ll never give up my Braille.
3. Didn’t manage a workout or complete my 10,000 steps but I did close my fitness rings. 💪

OK so this is probably a weird question but, would it be possible to get a modern braille-display to work in an old DOS-based scree-reader if the screen-reader has braille-support?

1. Got the test strips sewn to the muslin foundation and I do think the painter’s tape as a seam guide is going to work for quilting. 🙌🏻
2. Snuck in some Braille reading today. I’m determined to finish this chapter tomorrow.
3. Got the towels and washcloths washed and dried today. I’ll get them folded and put away tomorrow.

I am really hoping for this Global Accessibility Awareness Day in May, that Apple does the usual release comments on the upcoming changes for accessibility in iOS, and macOS in particular coming out later in the year and available as developer builds at WWDC. I was merrily typing away on my Brailliant, with one headphone connected to my phone, one connected to the laptop, a power wire connecting the laptop and another connecting the #Braille display… and then the doorbell rings! 2. Finished another Elm Creek Quilts novel, The Runaway Quilt, and it was as good as the first time I listened to it. 📚
3. Didn’t have to mist my air plant today because it was rainy and the humidity level in the house was 60% so that was plenty for Alf.

Por fin nos ha llegado el Monopoly accesible. NO os voy a decir lo que ha costado, pero el gusto y las ganas. Eso sí, estamos con @kastwey y el peque on fire por probarlo, luego trato de mandar un toot con fotitos del tablero. Es de Estados Unidos, y está en braille contraído, que además diría que es distinto el inglés americano al de aquí así que tocará aprender.
