For secure devices, I recommend a GrapheneOS base OS with no google apps tracking you. I would then install Briar instead of session and openpgp. and tor/i2p. I would then install Bote I2P app for email and install Kmail and configure i2p then import your PGP keys.

Now do this to 4 devices, and synchronise the keys and accounts.

Communicate Private over I2P Email/PGP or TOR Briar.

What do you recommend ?

Avoid Voice Communications if possible.

Я пробовал мультиплатформенный #Bridgefy, но там всё печально. За прошедшие 2-3 года прогресса не вижу, а неустранимые недостатки все при нём :(

توی شرایط جنگی و بلایای طبیعی مهمترین چیز ارتباط با خانواده و آشنایانه که هم از اخبار با خبر بشین و هم اگه کسی نیازمند کمک بود بشه فهمید و بهش کمک کرد. #Briar تا جایی من من میشناسم توی این زمینه تکه. با اینترنت یا بدون اینترنت کار میکنه (بدون اینترنت میتونه اوتوماتیک از طریق بلوتوث یا وایفای پیام ها رو دست به دست کنه). متاسفانه تنها ضعفش اینه که روی آیفون کار نمیکنه بخاطر محدودیت های آیفون.

نصب کنین و تستش کنین که برای روز مبادا آماده باشه. اسراییل داره زیرساخت میزنه و مخابرات هم ممکنه بزنه.

این برنامه یک پیام‌رسان نامتمرکزه که در مواقعی که اینترنت داخلی و محدود می‌شه کاربرد داره. در مواقع قطعی کامل اینترنت هم می‌تونه ازطریق وای‌فای با افرادی که به یک مودم وصل هستند و بلوتوث با افرادی که در شعاع نزدیک هستند ارتباط رو برقرار کنه.

Not clear which article you are referring to or what you mean by offline communication ability.
By offline communication, if you mean the ability to send messages to people who might be offline when you send the messages, yes you can do that with signal. When the recipient comes online, the message will be delivered to them.
And for the last part, NO.. signal doesn't provide any peer-2-peer networking support. You need a wifi or mobile data network to connect to the signal servers.
#Briar does support peer-2-peer messaging (using bluetooth I believe).

#WhatsApp has introduced channels, music in status etc. and has made WhatsApp into another social media and less of a mainstream #messenger.

👿 The bad:

• It is targeting people who are not on social media to be hooked.

• I feel there's a possibility of WhatsApp removing encryption in future , now that its even less serious form of messenger.

😈 The good:

• It seems to be so distractive and cluttered that it makes #signal , #simplex and other #floss options more attractive.

For mobile, idk yet.

@hamiller_friendica #Briar ist auch eine coole Lösung. Hier wird das Security+Privacy-First Prinzip konsequent umgesetzt.

Hab mir aus Neugier mal die Chat-App Briar installiert. Die bietet auch Multi-User Chat und Foren. Man kann sogar Blogs erstellen und RSS-Feeds importieren.

Nur das Onboarding ist etwas kompliziert, da es ja über p2p-Verbindungen läuft, ohne zentralen Server. Also muss man gegenseitig QR-Codes scannen oder spezielle Links tauschen. Macht sonst aber einen coolen Eindruck.
