Still remains one of, imo, the most elegantly designed games ever - let alone most elegantly designed roguelike. And the new edition includes the Rapid Brogue variant, which I hadn't tried, but seems very cool

Whew, I was being down on myself for being really bad at #Brogue (Community Edition), and then just have this ridiculous run where I got all the way to floor 20 and got murdered by a revenant. Which was kind of inevitable since I didn't find a damn bit of magic on the way, and they're immune to physical.
+6 war axe, +5 ring of transference and +2 plate, if you're wondering.
It's been ages (more than 2 1/2 years, yikes!) since I've picked up #Brogue, and honestly I've totally lost my mojo for it. My best run since re-installing was depth 9, which is pretty pitiful really.
That said, even I know that dumping me in a swamp with two eels on my ass on the SECOND DAMN FLOOR is a dick move.
Holy crap, there's now a Community Edition version of Brogue! There's a dedicated group doing bugfixes, improving the code and adding quality of life improvements. It's quite good, and great to see my favourite #oldschool #Roguelike getting that kind of love.
