This was by far the hardest #brutalist #concrete module I made for my #game even if the basic shape looks simple it was very difficult to transfert all the details on a #lowpoly #3Dmesh

I learnt a lot and improved my workflow so this is very well spent time to experiment :)

I was in #London twice in the summer of 2024, and one of my goals during those trips was to explore a few of the city’s many #brutalist wonders. I had been to the Barbican many times before and wanted to see what else I could find there.

The Alexandra Road Estate was one of the most interesting places I found during my research. On a Sunday afternoon, I took some friends to the area, and we took way too many pictures of this gorgeous concrete marvel.

🆕🏊♂️🇬🇪 New location feature: Laguna Vere Swimming Pool Complex, Tbilisi, #Georgia

Laguna Vere opened in 1978. Included 3 pools, 10m diving tower, and seating for 5,500 spectators.

After the collapse of the USSR, visitor numbers declined and it closed in 2014. Today the site is a derelict ruin overtaken by weeds and stray dogs.

Time has not been kind to Malaga's brutalist legacy from the 1980s, the former provincial post office. Unused since 2010, it is apparently destined to be covered forever with a kind of protective mesh, presumably as an alternative to actually maintaining it.

But sometimes, for just a few minutes, the light from the setting sun picks out the details on the western facade, transforms the drab netting into gauze, and reveals the remains of the Correos logo at the top of the tower. Perhaps it's my imagination, but at those moments the structure seems to takes on a dignity comparable to the Cathedral (also famously single-towered) just a short distance away.
