We just got notification that we are now officially a #Non-Profit #Corporation in #NorthCarolina!
We're still working on getting everything set up, so please don't mind the mess.
BT Free's goals are #privacy #rights, #advocacy, and #consulting, through #Fediverse services.
Next steps are as follows:
Get our main #website btfree.org set up and working with #Ghost . Get some better graphics for this #GoToSocial account. Then start working on setting up our first #Peertube at TubeFree.org and onboarding folks for a more #free #internet .
We will be accepting #donations in the future and while we're still figuring out how this will work we fully believe in donating back to projects and creators if we can. Still need to figure out how all the #tax stuff applies as this is my first #business .

Struggling with #Docker attempting to set up #BTFree . Docker in it's infinite wisdom has "docker-compose" the old I've always used and "docker compose" the new and they work DIFFERENTLY!
When you define a User in compose, if Docker makes new directories it doesn't respect the user so it makes it as root and then your app can't access those directories! AAAAAAAAAAAH!

I'm working on setting up a #NonProfit for #BTFree , which is a #digital #privacy, #advocacy and #consulting #platform, aka running #social #web platforms such as #Peertube or to help folks set up their own.
So I'm going to need to take #donations . Looking at @Liberapay , but they still need a #payment #processor like #Paypal.
So what's the advantage of something like Liberapay if I still need Paypal to handle actual donations? Not criticizing, attempting to learn. #Fedi
