@sterpeto That's very true, actually. Not to mention the spectacular effort required to create computers that run this fast. It really causes fun market stuff to happen doesn't it?
Ironically, I just had to restart my PC because my computer hang due to an #NVidia / #Nouveau failure. So on that... I'd love to have a simpler computer (and about that, I'm still tinkering with my #Commodore #C64U :commodore: I think I'll find a good use for it).

Glad I still have a working real one. Though I wouldn't mind a #TheC64 or this new #C64U as I need to clean the keyboard on mine as some keys aren't so reliable anymore...
Heute werden #retrogaming - Opfer gebracht. Mit dem #evercade Full-Set wird es ohnehin nichts mehr, da letzten Sommer meine Lynx Collection 2 gestohlen wurde. Also werde ich einen Teil der Sammlung verkaufen, um den #C64u zu finanzieren.

La funzione streaming video via ip , che si può abilitare sul #c64u é veramente comoda , perché puoi catturare audio e video senza avere una scheda di acquisizione. La qualità é ottima , ma serve una connessione via cavo.
Bastano pochi passaggi ed il plugin #C64 Stream per #obsstudio e si inizia a registrare.
Sarebbe bello poter fare streaming anche su una rete esterna via Internet.

I can't find it now, but previously I had complained that Fast Load didn't work with the #C64U.
It's because I didn't update my firmware when I got it. I wonder what other bugs have been fixed...
After quite some time, I felt the need to unbox my Mega65 again and give some C64 demos a whirl. That core works flawlessly in my opinion, and coming from the C64U, it was interesting to see if I could spot any differences from one FPGA to another. And no, I can't. Seems fine to me, no matter which one I use. Only when it comes to SID sounds, I do prefer the Mega65 over the C64U slightly. I loaded Wonderland XIII, disk 3 on both and listened to how well the speech samples are reproduced without any teaking efforts with 8580 and 6581 simulations. The Mega65 beats the C64U hands down with both variants, resulting in pretty good sample quality overall. No user efforts needed. The 6581 has just a few sound bites that sound a little bit off, but since I prefer the newer SID model anyway, that's okayish with me in this particular case. But of course you can place some real SIDs into the C64U (which I won't try), you may rightfully point out. Sure. But out of the box, it's a hell of a big difference between the two. I guess what I said before also applies to the MiSTER core, as this Mega65's one is based on that. Make of that what you will, but I for one will play around with the Mega65 for a few more days now. I keep seeing YouTube videos talking about the #C64Ultimate saying its HDMI output is great for video capture.
I feel obligated to point out that the #C64U can output a video and audio stream that can be captured by an OBS plugin available at https://www.commodore.net/downloads
which points at https://github.com/chrisgleissner/c64stream
No need for video capture hardware at all.
