I may experiment with caffenol for developing my next few rolls of black and white film. I've previously used Df96 (yes, I know that monobath developers are sneered at by many film photographers, but I've always gotten pretty good results) and D-76. 510 Pyro is also on my list to try, since I've read that the negative staining is great for alt-process contact prints.

For anyone doing home development: have any thoughts on developers? Favorites, etc?

Photographie prise et développée au Caffenol par Cindy Cinnamon

This is an interesting one, something from a long time ago. I know the camera was the #bencini Koroll 24 model, an oddity with 24 'half frame' spacing on #120film with single 1/50 speed and f9/f16 aperture. The film was likely #ultrafineextreme100 which was my only 120 stock for a long time.

The view of #nyc is obviously taken through a viewfinder though - I can't seem to recall what I might have been looking through.

#pinholephotography with old ultrafine BW #120film stock. This was in my friend's lab during a gel extraction process (you capture a DNA fragment in an agarose gel using electrical charge and then cut them out for purification).

I was quite happy to capture this one with ISO100 film, only lit by some background light and the blue LED lights from the illuminator. Since this was a pinhole with long exposure time, we aren't really visible despite constantly walking around in the background.

Morning shot of the #Metronome at #unionsquare #nyc, taken with #fppdebonair. It's one of the largest public art works in the city. The LED panel on the left used to be a clock, but switched over to a climate clock measuring the time until the Earth's carbon budget is used up.

Bell tower of St Mary's in Long Island City, Queens. I didn't know the place dated back to 1868. It's easy to forget how developed even the #NYC peripheries were by that time - there are probably whole nondescript buildings around here older than the shape of waterways surrounding the area.

I wish I took a more interesting photo of the place too - most of my shots are from work commutes so many shots end up being rushed. Gotta catch that train!

Week 40: FPP Wolfman 100

"Seeing double"

Pinhole image of a shallow pool in a peace garden, shooting on FPP Wolfman 100 film, in a ZeroImage 2000, developed in Caffenol-CH. Over the years I've had a few accidental double exposures which produces nice images over the years but never been satisfied with intentional efforts. So this roll was dedicated to practicing double exposure and had a nice couple of results.
