Cesta básica fica mais barata em 22 capitais do país

O custo da cesta básica de alimentos teve redução em 22 das 27 capitais do Brasil em setembro na comparação com agosto. A informação é da Pesquisa Nacional da Cesta Básica de Alimentos, divulgada nesta quarta-feira, 8 de outubro, pela Companhia Nacional de Abastecimento (Conab) e pelo Departamento Intersindical de Estatística e Estudos Socioeconômicos (Dieese).

Em São Luís, a queda foi de -3,15% e o custo médio da cesta básica ficou em R$ 623,92. Nove dos 12 itens avaliados tiveram redução na capital maranhense. O destaque foi o tomate, com redução de 14,55%. Arroz agulhinha (-4,2%), manteiga (-3,35%), feijão carioca (-3,1%), leite integral (-2,27%), carne bovina de primeira (-1,02%), banana (-1,02%), pão francês (-0,7%) e açúcar cristal (-0,26%) completam a lista dos produtos com queda de preço.

Entre abril e setembro de 2025, 11 produtos acumularam queda: tomate (-22,36%), arroz agulhinha (-21,43%), feijão carioca (-10,33%), farinha de mandioca (-10,14%), leite integral (-6,68%), açúcar cristal (-5,97%), óleo de soja (-4,10%), carne bovina de primeira (-3,70%), banana (-3,64%), manteiga (-3,15%) e pão francês (-0,27%).

Cesta básica nas 22 capitais: houve redução de preço

Em âmbito nacional, as reduções mais expressivas em setembro ocorreram em Fortaleza (-6,31%), Palmas (-5,91%), Rio Branco (-3,16%), São Luís (-3,15%) e Teresina (-2,63%). Os menores valores médios foram registrados em Aracaju (R$ 552,65), Maceió (R$ 593,17), Salvador (R$ 601,74), Natal (R$ 610,27) e João Pessoa (R$ 610,93). O maior custo ficou em São Paulo (R$ 842,26).

“A redução do custo da cesta básica em boa parte das capitais é sinal de que as políticas do governo do Brasil de abastecimento e apoio à produção de alimentos estão funcionando. A Conab e o Dieese trabalham para garantir transparência nos preços e contribuir com ações que assegurem comida de qualidade e a preços justos na mesa das famílias brasileiras”, afirma o presidente da Conab, Edegar Pretto.

O tomate teve queda em 26 capitais entre agosto e setembro, com variações de -47,61% em Palmas a -3,32% em Campo Grande. O aumento da oferta, resultado da colheita da safra nacional, ajudou a reduzir os valores no varejo. Apenas Macapá registrou alta (4,41%).

O arroz agulhinha ficou mais barato em 25 das 27 cidades, com destaque para Natal (-6,45%), Brasília (-5,33%) e João Pessoa (-5,05%). Mesmo com as exportações aquecidas, o recorde de produção da safra 2024/25 manteve o excedente interno elevado, o que reduziu as cotações. A única alta ocorreu em Vitória (1,29%), e o preço se manteve estável em Palmas.

O preço do açúcar caiu em 22 capitais, com variações de -17,01% em Belém a -0,26% em São Luís. O aumento da produção nas usinas paulistas e a previsão de maior oferta na Ásia provocaram queda nos preços externos e, consequentemente, no mercado interno. Apenas em Goiânia (0,51%) e João Pessoa (0,49%) o preço médio subiu.

O café em pó caiu em 14 capitais. As maiores reduções ocorreram no Rio de Janeiro (-2,92%) e em Natal (-2,48%). Apesar da valorização internacional do grão, os preços elevados nos supermercados inibiram a demanda, reduzindo as cotações médias. As maiores altas foram em São Luís (5,10%) e em Campo Grande (4,32%).

No caso da batata, coletadas nas cidades do Centro-Sul, em dez capitais o produto ficou mais barato, com reduções do valor médio entre -21,06% em Brasília e -3,54% em Porto Alegre. A queda se deve à maior oferta, com o avanço da colheita da safra de inverno. Só Belo Horizonte apresentou elevação (3,07%).

Já na carne bovina de primeira, as quedas mais acentuadas ocorreram em Macapá (-2,41%), Natal (-1,13%) e São Luís (-1,03%). A estiagem limitou a oferta, enquanto a baixa demanda impediu altas mais generalizadas. O produto subiu em 16 capitais e caiu em 11. A maior alta foi registrada em Vitória (4,57%).

O estudo trouxe ainda o recorte entre julho e setembro de 2025, que indicou queda no preço dos alimentos em 25 das 27 cidades em que é feito o levantamento no período. A capital que apresentou maior queda foi Fortaleza, com -8,96%, com a cesta passando de R$ 738,09 em julho para R$ 677,42 em setembro, R$ 60,67 a menos. São Luís (-6,51%), Recife (-6,41%) e João Pessoa (-6,07%) aparecem na sequência. Nos últimos três meses analisados, as duas únicas capitais que apresentaram alta foram Macapá/AP (+0,94%) e Campo Grande (+0,63%).

A coleta de preços de alimentos básicos foi ampliada de 17 para 27 capitais brasileiras em 2025, resultado da parceria entre a Conab e o Dieese. A iniciativa reforça a Política Nacional de Segurança Alimentar e Nutricional e a Política Nacional de Abastecimento Alimentar. Os primeiros resultados com todas as capitais começaram a ser divulgados em agosto de 2025, com base nos dados de julho.
