More Than a Hat: A Canadian Design Classic

The Tilley Hat is a recognized Canadian design classic. Its famous features are purely functional: a secret pocket for valuables, dual wind cords for stability, its ability to float, and its durable cotton duck material. For its ingenious form-follows-function design, the classic T3 model was inducted into the Canadian Design Hall of Fame. #Canada #TilleyHat #CanadianDesign #Iconic 🇨🇦

Great list of Canadian-designed and -made furniture and home accessories — and I can personally attest to the quality of the craftsmanship from many of these companies, too

I could not recommend the film Geoff McFetridge: drawing a life more.

Also for folks, his art is in Lyon station - Otrain.

It feels pretty good when you come up with a design and it ends up being widely adopted 14 years later. Even if I don't get any residuals...

The original is now discontinued from Stelpro. The fans on the right are from #panasonic who seems to have rolled out the design on almost all their models.

Way back in the Beforetimes, I discovered thru — and it introduced me to dozens of -based designers whose work I love. Now the same team is trying to do spark something similar for designers in , too

Naturally, I'd love to see more local showcased & celebrated in a similar way — but I'm curious, what are the ways you learn & discover about the local designers in your area?
