Vacances de novembre... dépaysement bienvenu après 2 mois de boulot chiant ! Observer l'architecture locale favorisant les courants d'air anti-canicule à l'hôtel. Se marrer devant les touristes allemands à poil partout, même dans les saunas où c'est interdit. Mais c'est bien ces corps imparfaits sans complexes ! Grand soleil dehors et que c'est bon de vivre sans enfants et de faire ce que l'on veut quand on veut (même si oui, on sait ce que c'est toute la richesse d'être parent - mais vous ne m'en voudrez pas ... on parle toujours des mêmes et pas assez des childfree).

We have a launch today at World FantasyCon 2025. In the Balmoral room at 11am. Two books: Body and Soul by Andrew Hook set in a distant post-apocalyptic future; Canaries by Alex Makepeace set in a near-future Britain after a right wing government is elected.

It’s agreed. Even Major Hastings agrees! Benet is permitted to be non-conformist and can continue sleeping in the woods. As long as he visits Lancaster sometimes to tell one of his humorous almost true true stories.

He is wearing a grubby wolfskin jacket over an old grey T shirt. In spite of his rough looks and shabby clothes Benet is one of Wolfland's nicest characters. An itinerant but loveable rogue, Benet wanders the land, sleeping in the woods at night, and earning a trivial income from story telling during the day. He looks scary. A big hairy giant of a man. But once they get to know him and know his patterns the locals look forward to his visits and his almost true true stories. No matter the town, nor the real name of the market place, it is always renamed “Jackanory Square” when Benet calls. And his seat “The Stump” is always ready for him. His background is a bit murky, but he claims to be from a long line of story tellers with a peculiar family tradition. The youngest boy is named Ben. The older man Benet, then Benedict, and finally Benedictine. When Benet's grandfather Benedictine dies, the names all transition. Fun Facts Favourite school subject: Cooking Hobby: Skiving If you were an animal what animal would you be and why? A woolly mammoth. You want me to explain? Seriously? Why even ask? Just look at me! Is most likely to say: This one is completely true! Is least likely to say: I can retire now. Outlook on life: One of these days I’m going to invent a proper working time machine.
