This is closely related to one of my core arguments against #AI: Even if it worked & wasn't an ethical & environmental nightmare, implementing it into your business to save money only works until you're locked in - at which point OpenAI et al will start raising the cost up to & then past whatever you saved firing all those employees.

We've always been given these pretty toys and games to distract us from realizing we're being fucked. We've gotten so used to the toys that we forgot who gave us these toys or why. Now the toys are being taken away and we're like, "What the fuck? That's MY toy". And now it's just raw fucking without the fun toys and games and many people are cheering.
