The image is a black-and-white photograph, likely from the early 20th century, judging by the style of clothing and the photographic quality. It shows a man lying down, seemingly unconscious or asleep, with his eyes closed. He is wearing a formal suit with a white shirt and a dark tie. His right hand is raised to his head, with his fingers resting on his forehead, suggesting a gesture of distress or discomfort. The man's left hand is placed near his chest, with his fingers slightly curled. The background is somewhat indistinct, but it appears to be an indoor setting with another person partially visible behind him. The overall tone of the image is somber, and the man's posture and expression convey a sense of vulnerability or pain.

Carte de visite, unknown subject, stamped "Photographed by J Coss, No. 14 1/2 Main Street, Springfield, O, 1872".
Two mentions in the #Springfield Daily News
"Mr. John Coss has sold out his daguerrotype Gallery to Mr. J. C. Gard...", 1860-07-06;
"All that want a good picture! can get one if they will call on J. Coss, next door to B. Allen's Jewelry Store. His Pictures are very Hard to Beat", 1861-12-21

A "carte de visite", a popular form of photography in the late 1800s. As is typical the size is 2.5" x 4" (approx 63 mm x 102 mm) for the thick backing card, with the actual photo print on thin paper 2 1/8" x 3 3.4" (approx 57 mm x 95 mm) pasted onto it. The print has a low gloss and is heavily toned brown (aka "sepia tone" although it's not always sepia). The surface is in good shape with relatively few scars and spots.
Depicted is a boy, maybe mid-teens, dressed very formally in suit and bow-tie, boots, and gold watch-chain. His hair is recently combed but unruly, and his expression is blank. He is sitting quite rigidly, as was the custom at the time, left foot crossed over right knee. The base of the cast iron posing stand is visible below the chair. The backdrop is plain but the floor is painted or tiled.

Carte de visite, mid 1895 or later, #Norrbyn, #Sweden. #Photographer Katrina Matilda (Thilda) Ohlsson (b #Nordmaling, Sweden, 1853-5-24; d 1944-3-2 #Hörnefors, Sweden) was active in Norrbyn from about 1894. Somehow this photo found its way to a bin of assorted cartes de visite in Vancouver, BC, Canada.

Much more than that I don't know.

A "carte de visite", a popular form of photography in the late 1800s. As is typical the size is 2.5" x 4" (approx 63 mm x 102 mm) for the thick backing card, with the actual photo print on thin paper 2 3/8" x 3.5" (approx 60mm x 89 mm) pasted onto it. The print is glossy, which is a bit unusual for the time, and has many scratches and specks.
Shown are a youngish man and woman, both dressed formally - him in suit and broad grosgrain tie, her in an ornate dark dress with puffy sleeves and huge skirt, suggesting middle class background. She sits and he stands very rigidly, as was the custom for portraits at the time; it is softened by his hand gently on her shoulder. The backdrop is painted with generic vegetation and classical looking chunks, I'm not sure what they're supposed to be. The photographer's name and place are stamped on the card, below the photo, in gold foil.
