Le livre passe en revue l'histoire de la ville de RUSPINA pendant une longue période allant de 146 avant JC à 698 après JC, une date symbolique correspondant à la chute de #Carthage, et couvre ainsi les étapes de l'histoire républicaine #romaine et de l'époque impériale, puis la période #Wendale et #Byzantine.
Des archéologues ont retrouvé et identifié la ville ibérique antique de Kissa. Le site archéologique est impressionnant, avec huit hectares à fouiller. Kissa a été conquise par Hannibal Barca et les Carthaginois vers la fin du IIIe siècle avant J.-C., puis prise par les Romains peu après en 218 av. J.-C. Elle a été abandonnée une ou deux décennies plus tard. Son état de conservation excellent fait que les découvreurs parlent de "petite Pompéi ibérique".

La conférence de Berlin est un des tournants majeurs de l'histoire contemporaine de l'Afrique. Close le 26 février 1885, elle a des conséquences majeures : le partage arbitraire et la colonisation en devenir.
Les réalités culturelles, ethniques et géographiques locales ne sont pas prises en compte, malgré les concertations des autochtones. Cela conduit indubitablement à des frontières artificielles. Elles divisent des groupes ethniques et culturels, créant des tensions (Rwanda, Soudan, Nigeria).
Les Européens imposent des administrations coloniales exploitant les ressources africaines (or, caoutchouc, café, cacao, etc.), souvent au détriment des populations locales.
Si elle permit aux Européens d'éviter des conflits directs entre eux à court terme, elle jeta les bases de divisions profondes, tant en Afrique qu'en Europe. Aujourd'hui encore, les frontières et les décisions prises en 1885 continuent d'avoir un impact sur les relations internationales et sur le développement du continent africain.

I think the 3rd Century BC is the most neglected Century by both History YouTubers and Historical Fiction.
This century is the Peak Golden Age of Hellenistic Civilization, of both Antioch and Alexandria and of the Old Stoa.
It's also a Century where for most of which Carthage was still the dominant Sea Power of the Mediterranean.
And then there's Rome. The Roman Republic was never the ideal state the Patrician Optimates imagined it to have been. But if there was ever a time when it was relatively stable and the Plebians relatively appeased it was the generation or two following the Lex Hortensia being passed in 287 BC. This is also when Rome dominated Italy but hasn't spread beyond it much yet.
The most talked part of this Century is the Second Punic War and First Macedonian War at it's end, with the first Punic War relegated to just Hannibal's Backstory rather then interesting history in it's own right.
And all that is still within the context of having a very Western bias. In Japan this century was dominated by Emperor Korei who I don't think anyone has made an Anime about.

Today in Labor History February 5, 1985: The Third Punic War, officially ended, only 2,131 years after it started in 149 BCE. Ugo Vetere, mayor of Rome, met with Chedli Klibi, mayor of Carthage, to sign the treaty. Fighting only lasted 3 years, but no treaty was signed ending the war until 1985. No one knows how many Romans died in the war, but an estimated 450,000 Carthaginians died.
