A branch has two catkins very close and then another can be seen behind in some detail and past that more blurred out.

Another shot from Sunday afternoon, in the dene behind Halton Castle, near the hound kennels. Catkins, presumably a hazel tree? 📷

Catkins... possibly a hazel tree?

Catkins on a Salix gracilistyla Mount Aso. The catkins are produced in spring before the leaves.
I moved this shrub a couple of years ago from an area, where it was not doing well. It is meant to grow up to three metres tall but is still tiny, probably on account of its hard start in life.

A nice short walk today in the local woods. Produced a few photostat I liked.

A clump of yellow catkins hanging down from a hazel twig. They are almost open giving us a sign that spring will not be long. There is another smaller unopened bunch further down the twig and more soft focused in the background.A cute squirrel sitting on a garden fence with its tail hanging down. the sun is behind it so the ears are translucent. The fence has chicken wire stapled to the top rail. Behind the squirrel a fir branch juts out and there is a soft focused hedge at the back.A squirrel is sitting on a fallen branch next to the large trunk of a tree. It looks like the squirrel has something in his paws and is eating it. There are a lot of twigs and bare branches behind.

The #seedpods #catkins on #SilkTassel bush look like long dangling earrings, from afar.
Garrya elliptica, the coast silk-tassel or silk tassel bush. It's native to coastal Oregon & California. Many WA & BC landscapers use it for their gardens work - especially as a windbreaker bush.

The focus is on the light brown drooping catkins seed pods which hang in segmented strands, intermixed with green leaves, and a few yellowing and decaying leaves with dark spots are also present. The background shows branches from other trees in soft, natural light. Several leaves have droplets of water on them.

Orange-crowned Warbler (Leiothlypis celata) in Norman, Oklahoma, United States on April 22, 2025

An Orange-crowned Warbler (Leiothlypis celata) was looking for bugs to eat among oak tree catkins in Norman, Oklahoma, United States on April 22, 2025. The bird was difficult to photograph because of rapid movement behind foliage between sunlight and shadow, but I do not see one of these every day and so I kept an imperfect photo.
