Đối với homelab (hầu hết dịch vụ truy cập nội bộ/qua VPN, một số công khai), wildcard certificate cung cấp tiện lợi và ẩn danh subdomain nhưng nguy cơ cấp phép bị đào may ảnh hưởng toàn bộ. Certs riêng lẻ an toàn hơn khi có subdomain bị xâm nhập nhưng phức tạp hơn. Cần cân bằng giữa bảo mật và hiệu quả quản lý tùy nhu cầu!

To my fellow software developers (not specifically DevOps or Ops), has anyone done any of the *Cloud Certs" at any level (AWS, GCP, etc)? If so, could you fill out this poll please?
I hear about them all the time but outside of specific Ops roles I wonder if they're actually used and useful.
And honestly any experience or thoughts or them or any other certs would be greatly appreciated too. I'm so curious in the industry and people in it actually find them useful.
sec+ reminder for me - that is a real viable progression step, will it get me a job, maybe not but if i get another cert or two on top of that v possibly. i need to make studying main priority during the week. more certs would make consulting cv look better also #certs #end game

Thanks to @dhess for showing me how it's possible to add CA certs to tvOS which got the Infuse client working with custom certs. Everything looks great, put Jellyfin's `8096` port on localhost, and `nginx` is doing what it's supposed to: service secure content. Both Apple TVs have the certs installed and both are able to pull content from Jellyfin without issue on port 443 with SSL on. The reverse proxy is only adding about 3 ms of latency, and there's no appreciable change in bandwidth between the server and the devices.
Gonna call this good to go.
If I have one complaint about the Jellyfin ecosystem, it's specifically with the Infuse client. It does a great job, but there is no way to have it accept "self-signed" certificates. I run a local CA and all of my internal servers have certs carved off of it. Unfortunately, Infuse will not connect to the Jellyfin server because of it which kinda sucks. Very annoying...
