Mijn atelier op het moment! In voorbereiding op de kunstroute van 13 en 14 september langs kunstenaars op de oevers van Rijn, Waal en Pannerdens Kanaal, is het een beetje vol. De laatste hand aan een olieverfschilderij, alle tekeningen inlijsten en bedenken hoe ze te presenteren.

My studio at the moment! In preparation for the art route on September 13th and 14th, featuring artists on the banks of the rivers Rhine, Waal, and Pannerden Canal, it's a bit full. Finishing an oil painting, framing all the drawings, and figuring out how to present them. Quite a task!

I present "b-team" figures with exaggerated, asymmetric features assembled in a silent tableau facing house-left. I present a "b-team" of gazing misfits – five figures with exaggerated, asymmetric features, including a bear with one charcoal-black eye, and a man with two sets of eyes – all assembled in a silent tableau facing house-left. Working with five charcoal sketches on 3x5 index cards, I allowed note remnants to become part of the narrative. Each vertical piece, marked by subtle blue and red rule-lines and handwritten notes, balances calculated chaos with echoes of personal history.
