The third day on or trip through France. We visited the Michelin Museum in Clemond Ferrand (many stories about tires, but really interesting was the history of road maps), the city of Clermand of course (and we have never seen so much art in a city) and had a beautiful walk at the Puy de Dôme.
Was a very good day.

Today we take the next stage under the wheels, from Fresne-Saint-Mames to Issoire. 380 kilometers. Our first stop was at Soing at the Saone with a nice small copy of the Eiffel tower. Then we had a nice stop at Riom with a beautiful church, nice cafés and a Tour de l’Horloge, hm, when you see it you know it is there. At the end of the day we had a very tiny appartement in the surprising beautiful city of Issoire. Beautiful buildings, water bowls for the dogs evreywhere in front of the stores and very relaxed people. See you tomorrow for the next part of the tour.

Todays "dogs-on-vacation"-pictures show Ici and Tapis in the Chateau de Queribus, a Cathar castle in the south of France. We were the in summer 2024, it is a beautiful region on the north side of the Pyrenees. The Cathars are an interesting religious movement, early Protestants. The Catholics started a crusade against them in 1209 under the motto "Caedite eos! Novit enim Dominus qui sunt eius" (Cut them down! For the Lord knows those who are His). But some of their ideas live to this day.
