Weird #TTRPG question:
Has anyone here ever played 2004 #WorldOfDarkness (later called #ChroniclesOfDarkness)?
Before I cause any confusion, I am NOT talking about #Vampire (#Masquerade OR #Requiem), #Mage (either #Ascension OR #Awakening), or Werewolf.
I am talking about the book shown below. Where you played normal humans who stumbled into a horror story (becoming stuck in a #StephenKing novel might be a good description) and became aware of the supernatural.

A very good analysis of the recently Kickstarted #Curseborne #TTRPG from the point of view of a longtime #WorldOfDarkness player.
For my part, I'm glad to see the more local scale of the game and focus on, "general weirdness," and, "creepypasta," rather than a massive metaplot. Definitely standing more on the shoulders of #ChroniclesOfDarkness, which is unsurprising, given its #OnyxPathPublishing origins.
Few minutes into game night, the crew attempts to abduct a cultist and fails in a most hilarious manner. After my character failed to grapple despite a dice pool of 14, another character attempted to lure them into the white van with candy and dramatically failed on the chance die.

I need to figure out how my character will blossom in our princess the hopeful game. She managed to become human at the end of our 14 hour long combat session/rescue mission, so that's a big step. But I want bullshittium powers and the court of cups tempts me.

Been reading a variety of Horror RPGs I have to get an idea of where to aim some scenario planning/writing I'm doing.
#DeltaGreen #ChroniclesOfDarkness and #UnknownArmies all talk about anchoring a game setting in familiar spaces and then having elements sprinkled in that are just left of normal. Just off. Aiming at a "disquieting" vibe rather than outright scares.
Which just tickles my brain and now I want to find time to play them all.
