#Hungary is violating #EU law by cracking down on #LGBTQ+ content children might be exposed to, a top adviser at the European Union’s highest court @Curia said on Thursday.
Hungary “has significantly deviated from the model of a constitutional #democracy,” the Advocate General Ćapeta found. #Budapest’s rules “are based on a value judgment that #homosexual and non-#cisgender life is not of equal value or status as #heterosexual and cisgender life.”

Basically, she argues that the life experience of #transsender people can't take precedence over the biological facts of their birth. But in the same breath, she explains that what makes a clear-cut distinction between men and women is their life experience of their sexually distinct bodies. In other words, she is implicitly only valuing #cisgender experiences. But #sexism and #patriarcat are not based on such things as the higher rate of breast cancer or prostate cancer among some populations.

i always take a few moments of silence throughout each day to think of the #transgender siblings we have lost in our ongoing battle for equality.
