Lovely walk up to old acropolis of Krane, one of the 4 ancient cities on the island of #Kefalonia. You can see in places where cart wheels have worn away the stone track over time.

From the #bronzeage onwards #piracy was prevalent in #Greece. Local people were often taken to be sold into slavery. The name of this village reflects such a violent past. Minies means "not the young women" and refers to a pirate raid.

New instance, new #introduction.
I am a mature-aged ancient history and classical languages student at the Uni of Queensland (in Brisbane, Australia). I've just completed two years of Latin, which I'm trying to maintain while I start ancient Greek in 2023.
The broad plan is to pursue postgraduate studies in the next few years, depending on the day job and other commitments.
